Description
A fibre-based gasket sheet material, 3.2mm thick, sold per metre and used to create custom seals between mating machine or pipe surfaces to prevent leakage of oil, water, air, or gas.
Key Features & Benefits:
- Consistent 3.2mm thickness for reliable, repeatable seals
- Compressible fibre material conforms to uneven mating surfaces
- Can be cut and shaped on-site to match any flange or gasket pattern
- Resistant to common oils, fuels, and moderate heat
Primary Application:
Used in engine, pump, compressor, and pipe-joint repairs, and in general workshop and industrial maintenance to fabricate custom gaskets.
Because it is supplied by the metre as a flat, uncut sheet, this gasket paper can be trimmed and punched on-site to match almost any flange, cover plate, or pipe joint pattern, using the old gasket or the mating surface itself as a template. The fibre material compresses slightly under bolt tension, filling minor surface imperfections and machining marks that would otherwise let oil, coolant, fuel, air, or gas leak past a joint. Selecting the correct thickness matters: thinner grades suit tightly toleranced, smooth-faced joints, while thicker grades work better where surfaces are rougher or gaps larger. Keeping a roll of a few different thicknesses on hand lets a workshop fabricate a replacement gasket in minutes rather than waiting on a specific pre-cut part, which is especially useful for older or uncommon machinery.
